"petty mallicious gossiping?"

i thought i was asking the opinion of others concerning an alleged corrupt politician. i said nothing "malicious" and i did not encourage gossiping. i was attempting to start a discussion about a story that EVERY major news network broadcast live.
the title of my post was referencing sensational media headlines and was tongue in cheek. i apologize for trying to raise the level of political discourse on this site.

I find the whole thing fascinating. As a gay man, I really wonder how people percieve Gay politicians nowadays. We had a pretty vocal Gay politician here in canada by the name of Svend Robinson, who was actually quite well liked and did his job quite well, until a couple of months ago when he 'accidentally" pocketed an expensive ring. He resigned his post, and he was actually given a conditional discharge. It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.
As for the guy in NJ, this story is just plain bizarre. Why his wife was with him 'by his side' during his confession is beyond me. As far as I know, he hasn't really broken the law. He may have repulsed everyone, and whether it was an affair or of course, sexual misconduct as the "other person" in the affair is calling it now is just fascinating to watch. Should he resign right away? What for?? Again, he hasn't really done anything wrong politically. Just let him finish his job.

I agree with SPUZZ. Their private life should not concern us.. I think that the USA obsession is totally unhealthy
